Fractal Explorer Color Options

The colouring of the Mandelbrot Set fractal is very complex. There are different methods.

In the Fractal Explorer you can choose between two of these methods. One uses the absolute value of the last number calculated and the other one uses the number of iterations needed to determine a complex number as divergating.

Both methods have advantiges and disadvantiges.

A disadvantige of the number of iterations method is for example, that the colours change when one changes the number of iterations. However with this method it is possible to create very impressive Mandelbrot set pictures. The one in the background of the website for example was created with that method.

Just play around with the options a bit, you will soon get familiar to them.
